Selket Arabians ~ Specializing in Russian-blooded Arabians

Partnership Colt

Please allow me to introduce a colt with some real show potential. This fellow’s name is Selket Rulahd (pronounced Roo-LAHD) and he is, in my opinion, a colt made for the show ring. (Here he is, screaming for his mother— and, no, I'm not choking him).

 Partnership Colt

The most interesting thing about Rulahd (and the real attention-grabber) is his unusually large and expressive eyes. Not only is it their size, but it is the bone structure around them which sets him apart.

The next thing which impresses me is his “way of going” – in other words, his action at the trot. He is a high-stepping colt with a lot of drive from the rear, and this makes a very exciting, dynamic horse for the show ring.

Rulahd

There is still one more thing, which, I believe, sets this colt apart from the crowd: If you look at his profile, you will see a pronounced forehead (or “jibbah” as we in the breed call it). This is a characteristic which many people believe is being lost in the breed and which has not often been seen in the show ring during the past few years.

Selket Rulahd

Selket Rulahd has the potential to be a valuable and successful show horse. Now, let me explain why he is even more valuable as a breeding stallion.

Rulahd was specially bred to intensify the blood of the internationally-winning stallion that really made the difference for this farm. I am speaking about Furno Khamal. Khamal’s story is almost legendary in the Arabian breed and all of the best Selket horses are related to him. In the case of Rulahd, we produced a colt that is doubled-up on Khamal and the plan worked!

Rulahd’s dam is one of Khamal’s daughters. His sire is one of Khamal’s few remaining sons, out of a mare that was sired by “Aswan” (gifted by the Egyptian government to Russia after building the Aswan dam).

This is Arabian horse blood of the highest level, concentrated for good breeding value. And it is right here in a young colt that was made for the show ring.

To make it possible for this colt to go all the way to the top, we have agreed to transfer ownership of him into a partnership. Selket Arabians is staying on as manager of the partnership, and his owners will have breeding rights to him each year based on the number of shares they purchase. There are 40 shares total

Each share is worth $2,500 and entitles the owner to one breeding a year (with a repeat breeding if it doesn’t take or result in a live foal). This means, for the share’s price of $2,500 (and 1/40th of his monthly expenses) a partner is entitled to breed one mare a year to Selket Rulahd. The breeding is transferable, meaning the mare doesn’t have to belong to you and it means you can sell the breeding to someone else that year (if the mare is approved by Selket Arabians). Shares themselves, however, may not be sold without approval.

We can finance the shares at an accounting fee of 10% and we can accept checks, credit cards or PayPal.
